1. Acceptance

By accessing this website, downloading our datasets or models, or participating in our early access programs, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Dataset Licenses

Our datasets carry a mix of licenses, and you are responsible for checking identity.source_db per row before assuming redistribution rights:

Scandium-authored content (harmonization, quality scores, documentation): CC BY 4.0 — share and adapt, even commercially, with attribution
Materials Project entries: CC BY 4.0 — commercial safe
JARVIS entries: CC0 1.0 — commercial safe
OQMD entries: non-commercial license — not commercial safe
AFLOW entries (SSB dataset): restricted to scientific / academic / non-commercial use

A Commercial-Safe edition (MP + JARVIS entries) can be extracted via the included scripts/extract_commercial_safe_edition.py script. See LICENSE_BREAKDOWN.md in the dataset repository for full details.

3. Acceptable Use

Permitted: research, commercial R&D, academic publication (with citation), building models on top of our datasets
Prohibited: redistributing our datasets as a competing product without attribution, misrepresenting provenance or quality scores, or violating the underlying source licenses

4. Disclaimer

Our datasets and models are provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind.Computed properties are predictions, not measurements. Nothing here is a substitute for experimental validation. We are not liable for research, engineering, or business decisions made based on our data.

5. Intellectual Property

Scandium Labs retains all rights to its name, brand, website, pipelines, and documentation. Derivative research and models you build using our datasets are entirely yours — we claim no ownership over your work.

6. Early Access Programs

Access tiers (Research, Industry) are granted at our discretion and may be modified or discontinued. Access does not confer ownership of the underlying data or models.

7. Termination

We may suspend access for violations of these terms. You may stop using our services at any time.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
